​This is a sweet little 45min walk right from your doorstep. It takes you through the village and up the hill to catch a wonderful view over the valley. Enjoy!

1. Come out of the house and turn left towards village centre (away from Betwys)

2. Walk down into the village, follow road as it bears right at the Machno Inn.

3. Go over the bridge/river

4. Go past church and graveyard on your right.

5. You’ll see the Eagles Pub on left hand side and diagonal is the Londis Shop.

6. Take the lane to the right of the shop

7. Walk down – the church now on your right, and past a chapel and some houses on your left.

8. Go over another small bridge over the river.

9. As you pass the farmhouse on your left, keep left as you head up a track road

10. There’s a sign SLOW/ARAF private road but it’s ok to walk

11. Go straight up this track road towards a bunch of conifer trees at top of hill

12. As trail starts to bear left towards the farmhouse, go straight up onto the grass towards stile.

13. Go over the stile and continue straight up the hill still towards conifers that have a wire fence at the bass.

14. Once at the fence, turn right and follow the track – the fence staying on your left.

15. You might want stop, sit and take in the view here. It’s BEAUTIFUL!

16. Continue to follow the path along the wire fence perimeter - up the hill which goes underneath the conifer trees.

17. Go over the running stream and next stile.

18. Follow the muddy track up the hill until you get to the gravely stone road. You’ll see a post directly in front with a ‘Snowdonia slate Trail right’

19. Turn right here and keep heading down for 10 minutes.

20. Look out for a post on the right-hand side which has a sign ‘Snowdonia slate Trail straight ahead’. Turn right down the hairpin bend mud track here, down towards the farmhouse.

21. As you reach the wooden fence in front, take the stile on your left.

22. As you look down the field, you can see a track road at the bottom which heads towards the main village road - you’re heading straight for this.

23. Head straight down across the field – past two farmhouses on your right (note, there’s no real clear path in the field here)

24. Head towards the bottom right-hand corner of the field, where you’ll find another stile.

25. Cross over here then take the track to the left, down towards the main road.

26. Go over the river bridge, keep along the path until you reach the main road.

27. Turn right onto the main road which head straight into the village and all the way back HOME

28. Now for a nice cuppa!
